Face It

Although I enjoy make-up, I don't usually indulge in my desire to draw all over my face with pretty colors. I like to keep it pretty basic, also, I'm lazy so that might have something to do with it. Some who know me might say I'm not exactly a morning person. Others who know me better would definitely say I'm not at all a morning person. By the time I put an acceptable outfit together in the a.m. there is little energy or time left for my face...maybe I'll resolve in the new year to be better about that. Maybe.

Recently I was in a musical with Sounds of Blackness at the amazing Guthrie Theater here in Minneapolis, which was a fantastic amount of fun. For the cast party I decided to get a little fab and do my interpenetration of a make-up look I thought was super. A cast mate (Hey Gabby!) took some quick snap shots in the dressing room:

I toned down the cheeks and eyeliner just a bit. Also, I failed to strike the perfect mouth-slightly-open seductive look pose, or are you supposed to just walk around like that when you have your make up done? Oh well, there's always next time...

For the outfit, I went dressy casual. The make up definitely bumps up the look though. Who knew that putting effort in yields results?! We've all learned a valuable lesson here, no?
