Boots, Bows and Below Zeros

Boots in the fall and winter seasons are the best things ever - right up there with sitting near the fireplace wrapped up in a warm blanket sipping on hot apple cider and procrastinating on all the things you really should be doing. Yep, it's that good. Although the fashion world (especially with New York Fashion Week upon us) is focused on spring trends of neon, pastels, and tropical prints- it's difficult to indulge when it's stupid cold outside. "Below zero" may be a bit of hyperbole on my part, but please be assured it really was, in fact, stupid cold. I'm pretty sure that's the technical term meteorologists and other general weather type people use to describe it. Let's not get into what it says about me that I was willing to stand outside, sans coat, in it. Yes. Let's go ahead and not address that...

This is what I look like when I'm trying not to look cold.

I decided to get all cozy and whatnot with a faux fur vest and some delicious thigh-high boots - they had me at the bows. Shorties (like moi) beware, thigh-highs are difficult to pull off without looking like a stump, especially when you have a short torso (again, like moi). I'm not completely certain I'm even pulling them off, but they're so fantastic. I couldn't just leave them at the store, that would have been cruel. To me. And my shoe collection.
